Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2025
1. Acceptance
By installing Dutycode on your Shopify store, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install or use the app.
2. Service Description
Dutycode is an AI-assisted HS code classification tool designed to help Shopify merchants prepare product data for international cross-border shipping. It generates Harmonized System codes, country-specific tariff code extensions (EU CN8, UK commodity codes, US HTS), and writes them to Shopify product metafields.
3. Acceptable Use
- Dutycode is for Shopify merchants classifying their own product catalog.
- You must not use the service to classify products for stores you do not own or operate.
- You must comply with Shopify's Partner Program Agreement and Terms of Service.
- You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the underlying tariff database.
4. Billing
- Plans are billed monthly through Shopify's billing system.
- A free plan is available with a product limit.
- Paid plans auto-renew monthly until cancelled.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.
- Shopify handles all payment processing — Dutycode never sees your payment details.
5. Intellectual Property
- The tariff database, classification logic, and Dutycode brand remain the property of Dutycode.
- Merchants own their product data and classification results.
- No licence is granted to use the Dutycode name, logo, or code outside the app.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Dutycode's total liability for any claim arising from or relating to this service shall not exceed the amounts paid by you in the 3 months preceding the claim.
In no event shall Dutycode be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill.
7. Modifications
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app banner or email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at the registered address of the service provider.
